Andrew Tucker, 42, of Park Ridge, was heading south on W. Saddle River Roda when he tried passing a southbound Tesla turning left onto Terhune around 10:15 a.m., Ridgewood Police Capt. Glenn Ender said.

The impact caused the Honda to leave the roadway, sending it into the garage of 471 W. Saddle River Road, the captain said.

Tucker was arrested on warrants out of Hasbrouck Heights and issued several summons including driving while suspended, Ender said.

Records show Tucker has a litany of traffic offenses, including driving while unlicensed, speeding, and reckless driving issued in Hillsdale in April 2023. He was arrested for DUI in 2022, in River Edge, records show.

The driver of the Tesla was transported to Valley for non-life-threatening injuries.
